seeing as how it has A/V audio outs I don't think you'd have to spring for a sound bar but instead could go with an older stereo system or with an adapter even use a good set of computer speakers,(which is what I do with my Magnavox TV which has a 3.5mm headphone jack to plug them into. I have a Boston speaker set I only payed 20 USD with a sub woofer and that setup sounds wonderful), either of which IMO sound way better than most sound bars.

I got my 53" Samsung 4K Smart TV from Walmart for $580 brand new on clearance about a year and a half ago after my previous 43" Samsung (which itself had been $580 on sale) of the same line fell forward and broke. It was a friggin' STEAL as I had originally bought a REFURBISHED 43" older Samsung for $450 so when I had seen the 53" 4K Smart TV in the back because I had no idea where to pick up an order I decided to ask if I could trade for it. Well they couldn't but they gave me a gift card but not for the amount I bought the refurbished set, but for the FULL NEW original price of it so they gave me an $870 gift card. I didn't point out they made a mistake so I ran back to get the 53" tv and paid for it quickly and took off. lol I wasn't gonna question my luck. So it was a screen 10 inches larger for the same price as I paid for the tv that broke except the old one had not been 4k or a "SMART TV". I use it as an external monitor for my Alienware 17R4 gaming laptop and I LOVE it.

To the question at the end, something used no contest. And it's not surprising that people recommend dynamic picture mode. Most people set saturation on tv's wayyy to high and color temp to cold. Out of the box the vast majority of tv's standard picture mode fits that bill and a lot of people don't mess with it much so they get used it and when your super used to it a calibrated display can seem washed out and too warm.

i actually have a similar TV which is branded as Horizon, its 61cm and FHD with Dynamic contrast and at 60hz. Thing is, if the game doesnt run at 60hz you sort of notice a brown blur effect but i disable the dynamic contrast and what not options and it looks pretty well. For the audio i use headphones or a set of 2.1 speakers which i would use anyway for movies or games. I'd say that for a cheapass who needs a monitor for what not in their private shack, it is worth it.

I bought an Onn wireless keyboard-mouse set a few years ago, it was very shitty and only lasted a few weeks. I don't have any experience with Onn televisions, though. I do have a two year old Sceptre 32 inch, 720p television that I use as a computer monitor for 12 hours a day. It blew a speaker with very little use (I usually use an amplified external speaker set so it isn't a big thing but the built-in left speaker on the TV sounds very distorted when I do use them) but otherwise it works pretty well. I only paid $120 for it so I am happy enough. An equivalent Sceptre is currently less than $100, there was also an Onn 32 inch, 720p television on sale recently for $99 at Wal-Mart.

I recently got a Polaroid 40T2F from Kmart for around $150 and it's actually a very good product for the process point. Unlike this it's a Smart TV I actually watched this video on it. The speakers are beyond terrible and I've heard phone speakers sound better but the picture quality is super sharp and vivid. It came set default to dynamic picture and standard audio but I changed it to movie and it sounds way better. I'm still getting a sound bar because bass is non-existent.

Just so you guys know as someone who used to work at a Walmart Distribution Center in the Non Con area where TV's and such are order filled. Its highly possible that the people order filling tv's in your local Distribution Center just didn't give a fuck at all because Production numbers are so high there is literally no time to care about quality. Walmart is all about Quantity over Quality.

I have that same tv, but mine has a manufacturer with the name "Element" and not "Onn". I got it from Walmart for the same price. All the menus are the same, and the speakers are also as shitty as they are on mine. I actually knew before you turned the sharpness down, to turn the sharpness down, and let me tell you... Turning the sharpness to 0-10 on this tv, makes it 100 million times better. Also, just an FYI. I do believe that Element and Onn are the same exact company. They both had the same exact tv in my local Walmart. However, Onn's was a 720p panel, while Element's was 1080p. The Onn was $100 and the Element was $150. The stands were exactly the same. Also, the answer to your question at the last bit of the episode... I would rather go with the $150 TV, due to the unreliableness of "Sceptre".
